My work revolves around Connection, Femininity, and Beauty. I have built a cohesive body of work across multiple disciplines and materials, with a vocabulary deeply rooted in nature and my fascination with the cultures and countries I have lived in.
Infinity Knots objects are moving, bronze cast sculptural wall pieces symbolising ‘Power through Connection’; connecting human beings, different cultures, and countries, highlighting our interdependencies. This work symbolises the need for a dialogue between sometimes opposites, to ultimately collaborate and unite for the bigger picture and a better world.
Forces of the Spheres visualises our gathered emotions during our lives. I took a bold and heartening approach to the conventional wisdom that all people are shaped by their life experiences. This artwork attempts to reflect a person’s life by uncovering their vulnerability, fragility, strength, and passion. These organic spheres resemble memory foam, as if it’s a protective cushion to help us cope and give us resilience and wisdom in the future.
My emotional figures represent a different emotion or state of mind. Together, these figures tell a story about connection, vulnerability, inner conflict, and choice.
As I developed the pieces, I paid close attention to body language and positioning to communicate emotion without relying on facial details alone. The embrace symbolizes comfort and unity, while the open heart represents honesty and emotional exposure. It All Adds Up reflects the accumulation of experiences and emotions over time, and Whose Side Are You On challenges the viewer to think about perspective, loyalty, and decision-making.
